Discovery Christian Community is a suburban congregation strategically placed in the middle of the rapidly growing Salt Lake Valley. We have been here for a number of years and were formerly known as the Salt Lake Alliance Church, part of the Christian and Missionary Alliance denomination. We are very grateful for our past, and for the many things accomplished by those who have preceded us. However, we recently embraced a new vision of ministry and outreach and made some changes in both our worship style and our name. We have removed the denominational identity from our church name, but we remain a part of the “Alliance.” Our style is informal, and casual dress is welcome. Our music is a blend of contemporary and traditional, and each week our excellent praise team musicians help to focus us in worship.

 

We are a “purpose driven” church where our teaching and our ministries focus on the five purposes for which we were created: Worship, Fellowship, Discipleship, Ministry and Mission. We have a deep love and respect for the Church across denominational lines, and visitors soon discover that we have invited two other congregations from different denominations to share our facilities at different times.

 

In our theology we are conservative and evangelical. We believe that the Bible is God’s inspired Word and we encourage our church family to live with a biblical worldview. Our message is contemporary and culturally relevant, but always based on the Word of God.

 

We are committed to accepting people wherever they are in their spiritual journey. We welcome all those who are honestly searching for answers in their life. We will encourage them to discover Jesus Christ for themselves, but while their search continues they will be warmly welcomed in our community.
